The Creative Class: RAC

Tall with a boyish look and bright blue eyes, André Allen Anjos is exactly what you might expect when meeting a DJ and producer responsible for some of the best nuanced remixes of indie songs. He’s charmingly unassuming and authentic; a self-proclaimed introvert whose passion for his craft is clearly palpable. Originally from Portugal, Anjos moved to Illinois for college and soon after founded RAC, otherwise known as Remix Artist Collective. He began offering up his services - cold call style - to various independent artists and bands. His first big break? A remix of The Shins’ “Sleeping Lessons” off their 2007 album Australia. After a decade of hard work, Anjos won his first Grammy for Best Remixed Recording, becoming the first Portuguese artist to solidify a spot in music history.

Standing up to Breast Cancer

This month DSTLD is taking an elegant departure from its traditional monochromatic white-grey-black and denim color scheme in order to stand up to breast cancer during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. In an effort to empower women across the country, DSTLD has custom washed its popular eco-friendly Tencel Ankle Skinny into an elegant blush shade exclusively for breast cancer prevention organization Bright Pink. DSTLD will donate 100% of proceeds from the jean to Bright Pink so they can continue to spread education on breast cancer prevention and provide support for the young women and families who have so bravely chosen to take preventative surgical measures.
