My name is: Tara Macken.
I was born in: a car in Kuwait, but now I call Marina Del Rey, CA home.
Profession: Actress, stuntwoman.
A typical day consists of: If I’m on set filming, it consists of 12 plus hours of action, doing what I love to do, surrounded by the most talented people in their profession. If I’m not on set, my day consists of going on a run down to the beach to have my morning coffee watching surfers by the Venice pier. Followed by training at a park or gym, lunch with friends, errand running, then back to the beach to catch the sunset. Oh yeah, and mix this in with auditions and photoshoots.
My style is: Eclectic and ever evolving. I don’t typically stick to trends or what’s hot at the moment. I dress up with what’s best for my body type, inspiration being movies, characters and it all has to be comfortable. I also try to stay out of the sun, so I travel around with a floppy hat.
What is in my purse: A weekly organizer/ planner. Wallet, chapstick, lipstick, pen, deodorant, sunglasses, sunblock.
I style my denim with: Form fitted tees and/or loose, open shirts where you can see my tankini bra-top.
The best thing about my denim: It fits like a charm, it feels like it holds everything in and it keeps its form. Good stretch, I can’t break it. Also, I can wear it for both a daytime casual look and a more upscale, nighttime look. I love it. It’s a comfortable and a classy find.
My favorite pair of DSTLDs from this shoot are: The black, low rise distressed jeans and the booty shorts.
Right now i’m working on: Just wrapped up a movie with Dwayne Johnson, Guardians of the Galaxy is coming out, and I will be working on a Richie Rich show.
I can’t live without: Contacts and glasses, I’m blind! Flip flops, sunblock and a hat.
I’m inspired by: Audrey Hepburn and Kate Moss.
My favorite item in my closet right now is: My black DSTLD high waisted denim! It gives me a big booty with a tiny waistline, score!
I want to be remembered for: My personality and my choices. Growing up, my main goal was to do what makes me happy, and I stuck to this mantra as an adult. It’s a choice to make to follow the inner child in you, and I’m glad that despite the ups and downs, criticism and support, I’ve done exactly what I am meant to do. I’ve always believed in myself, even when no one else did, and despite all odds it has worked out.
